Dr. Nagihan Gür, who is assistant professor at the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, has been conducting various archival studies in the British archives since 2016 for her post-doc research titled “Reading Practices of the Scottish Orientalist E. J. W. Gibb and His Understanding of Ottoman Culture” supported by the Coordination Office for Scientific Research Projects (BAP) of SSUA. As part of this project, Dr. Gür gave a talk  titled “The East as a Career: Exploring an Orientalist Circle in the British Archives” at the Yunus Emre Institute in London on 16 November 2017. In her talk, Dr. Gür shared her experiences in the British archives with scholars. After her talk, Dr. Gür gave an interview about her current research and this interview was broadcasted in a program called “Londra Aktüel” in ATV Europe. You can find the interview on the link below:
